Terms of Service

By creating an account or using The Next Job (thenextjob.app), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms form a binding contract between you and The Next Job.

The Next Job uses artificial intelligence to generate tailored CVs, cover letters, and interview preparation materials based on your existing CV and a job description you provide. All output is AI-generated and intended as a starting point - you remain responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all content before use.

• You must provide a valid email address and keep your account credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or misuse the service.

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal when purchasing digital services. Because The Next Job delivers its service immediately upon subscription activation, you expressly waive this right of withdrawal at the point of purchase by ticking the consent checkbox during checkout.

By subscribing, you confirm that you have requested immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that the withdrawal right will be lost once the service has commenced. Your waiver is recorded with a timestamp for your protection and ours. As a consequence of this waiver, once the service has commenced you are not entitled to a refund for any billing period already initiated.

The Next Job offers paid subscription plans billed monthly or annually through Stripe.

• Billing - Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You authorise us to charge your payment method on file.
• Cancellation - You may cancel at any time from your billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.
• Refunds - We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe a charge is erroneous, contact us at hello@thenextjob.app within 14 days and we will investigate.
• Chargebacks - Please contact us at hello@thenextjob.app before initiating any payment dispute with your bank or card provider. If a chargeback is filed without prior contact, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your account and revoke access to the service pending resolution of the dispute.
• Price changes - We will notify you by email at least 30 days before any price increase affecting your subscription. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
• Failed payments - If a payment fails, we will notify you by email and attempt to retry. If payment is not resolved within a reasonable period, your subscription may be suspended.
• Fair use (Premium plan) – The Premium plan is subject to fair use. We reserve the right to temporarily restrict the creation of new orders where usage in a given billing period significantly exceeds normal usage patterns for the plan. Any restriction takes effect immediately and applies until the start of the next billing cycle. No refund or service credit is due as a result of a fair use restriction; the existing limitation on refunds for partial billing periods in these terms applies.

The service also uses a credit system. Credits are consumed when your subscription quota is exhausted or when you have no active subscription. Credits are non-refundable and have no monetary value outside the platform.

You agree not to:

• Use the service to generate fraudulent, misleading, or defamatory content.
• Misrepresent AI-generated content as entirely your own work in contexts where disclosure is required.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying AI models or system prompts.
• Resell or sublicense access to the service without our written permission.
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or third-party rights.

Output produced by The Next Job is generated by large language models. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any generated content. You acknowledge that:

• AI output may contain errors, hallucinations, or outdated information.
• You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all generated content.
• The Next Job does not guarantee employment outcomes or interview success resulting from use of the service.

• Your content - You retain ownership of your CV and any other content you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to process it for the purpose of generating your requested output.
• Generated output - You own the output generated for you and may use it freely.
• Our platform - The Next Job's software, branding, and system prompts are our intellectual property. You may not copy or reproduce them.

Our handling of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Next Job's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or missed employment opportunities.

Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay in providing the service caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including outages of third-party providers (AI model providers, cloud infrastructure, payment processors), internet disruptions, natural disasters, or government action.

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the version number and date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Portugal, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.

The European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Consumers in Portugal may also contact the Portal do Consumidor at consumidor.gov.pt or the CNIACC (Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo).
